This specification covers the construction
requirements for two conductor underground low energy circuit
cables for outdoor low voltage lighting. Construction consists
of stranded uncoated annealed copper conductors, laid parallel
and insulated with polyvinyl chloride. |

SPLICING RECOMMENDATIONS: |
| |
3.1 |
Splicing should be accomplished
in accordance with the requirements of UL Standard "UL 1838
– Low Voltage Landscape Lighting Systems", Appendix A. Connections
shall be made using the 3M DBY-6 or DBR-6, or other connectors
which are UL listed under "UL 486D-Direct Burial." The voltage
rating of the connector shall exceed the highest working voltage
of the lighting system. Connectors that are listed under UL
Standard UL 486C as "Compression Connectors" shall not be allowed. |
